in the 2nd Neon Faliro Primary School.

English is taught as a foreign language in almost all Greek primary schools.

Children start having English lessons at the 4th grade.

The teaching material consists of a Student’s book, a Workbook, a Teacher’s book and a cassette for each class.

It is designed to start with the absolute beginner and reach an intermediate level at the 6th grade with the third book of the course. (The underlying methodological philosophy is based mainly on the principles of the Communicative Approach)

The teaching approach of the material includes:

-Familiarization

-Presentation

-Practice

-Free Production (Communication)

Through all these phases Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking Skills are practiced effectively.

Although there is no formal teaching of Grammar, language functions and forms are taught through activities which call for communication, leading learners to work out patterns and rules for themselves.
